FERRY BOAT KILLAZ: 40 Oz & Salmon Fillet

Unlike the rest of the blogosphere, I didn't have the pleasure of hearing Shaolin vs Wu-Tang in it's entirety until it's official release date. It's a challenging album to say the least. I'm going to need a great deal of time with this record to truly absorb songs such as "Last Trip To Scotland" and "Snake Pond". Similar to The Fly 2—my other favorite release so far this year—it seems that with every listen I'm introduced to details that previously slid through undetected. Both projects share a "laugh now then figure that shit out when you get home" quality that's rather unique in rap music's current fast food climate. "Ferry Boat Killaz" features an onslaught of bizaare proclamations from Raekwon over a subtle, yet sinister Alchemist soundscape. I CANNOT STOP PLAYING THIS SONG!!! Well played Shallah...

  3. @Shooter No doubt. It's a hard line to walk though. As far as being dense and abstract yet still engaging and entertaining. Rae & Camp Lo do this well IMO.
